Nagoya!

We went to Nagoya today! While my family went to a concert for kids I shopped at Oasis 21, there were so many stores!! It was huge! My host mom and I were a little worried about me getting lost, but I was fine. I only bought two small things. If I had more time I would have bought more. :P 

After my family and I met up again we ate ice cream and ramen! We also went to a shop that my siblings wanted to visit. I am gonna gain weight with eating all of this food XD

Meiji Mura

We ate every meal out today! We had breakfast at a small cafe. Along with my meal I got strawberry milk, it was so good. It had whip cream on top and strawberries in it. We ate udon for lunch at Meiji Mura. We ate fried shrimp and raw fish for dinner. 

I got to go to Meiji Mura which is a big outside museum if buildings from the Meiji Era. Each building had an exhibit inside! There was so much to look at! We spent the whole day there. We also rode an old locomotive! By the end of the day everyone was tired. We got to see where part of Hanako and Anne ( a show my okaasan and I watch) was filmed!

Today was awesome!

Kindergarden Festival

I went to Harutos and Kahos ( my siblings ) kindergarden festival today. As a side note there are 3 levels of kindergarden here. Each level performed a dance, then someone from the family got to dance with them, aka me :P

It was super cute! America should do something like it!

After that we went to eat at an eel reasturant. We ate eel, eel bones, and eel liver. It wasnt bad! We also went to a snack shop, everything was really cheap, I was to go again!!

My okaasan liked the note I gave her. :) 

I got to shop to, but the store was high end even in Japanese standard. I still bought some things. I got some daruma dolls. 

My family and I went to an udon shop for dinner. The reasturant was nice, yummy, and under $5 per person! We need these in America! XD

Junior High Part 2

I went to junior high again today. I have been messaging a loy of new friends from there. Today I was called "kawaii" and "beautiful". I was also told that I look like a model! XD

I had math class, which I was able to understand! :D Then I helped an English class. 

After school I helped my okaasan around the house. We taught different children English today after school. She had me sing to the kids and two of her friends like a proud mother. I am happy that she is being motherly to me :)

I wrote okaasan and otoosan a thank you note and left it on the couch for them to find. Rio came in my room while I was writing it and she wanted to help, but we couldnt communicate so she basically almost told okaasan about it while asking for a translation.

Rio had to write an essay for school about something exciting and she choose me and said that she has fun everyday now. She also said she never wants me to leave. I never want to leave either!!!

Junior High

Okaasan and I watched a Japanese show together this morning. We also had bonding time while folding laundry XD! 

I went to junior high today. Everyone was very friendly and talked to me. I heard "kawaii" about a million times! It was fun though!! I made a lot of friends! I talked to a native english speaker, he is a teacher at junior high. It was fun, but it is weird talking to another native. I am no longer used to it.

Aside from school, some kids came over for me to play with and teach English. They were all shy, but cute. 

I had fun playing with my siblings, we ran around the house! I made shells and cheese for my family to try. My host brother especially enjoyed it. 

Elementary School

Today I went to the elementary school! The little kids were so cute and really amazed by me! I got asked for my signature a lot XD I discovered that I am not good at calligraphy today :P I only went for 3 hours so I got to rest for a bit. 

My host mom asked me what I wanted to see this weekend, but I want to see EVERYTHING XD!! 

I watched a tv program with my okaasan. Additionally, she played piano and I sung to it. It was fun. We rode bikes together. I really like biking in Japan!

High School Life

Today was my last day of high school for a week. Tomorrow I go to the elementary school! Today my siblings gave me lots of hugs. I walked around my school while waiting for okaasan to pick me up and more groups of people yelled out the window for my attention XP More people also asked for photos. 

My Japanese is improving, which makes me happy! I can understand a lot more! 

I will make mac and cheese soon for my family!

Cooking Class and Fancy Dinner

We went to cooking class today. We made angel food cake and tomorrow we are eating it for breakfast.

I had yummy chocolate snacks shaped like pandas. I also tried a peach flavored water, it is my new favorite! I tried takoyaki (octopus) and it was yummy!! We were all excited to eat it.

We also went to a fancy Japanese reasturant with my grandmother and grandfather. My grandma was super nice and talked to me a lot. The reasturant was traditional, pretty, and expensive. The meals were $35-45 per person. There were multiple courses. I was stuffed by the end. I ate sukiyaki, which involves raw egg. It was delicious! The reasturant gave me a Japanese kite as a gift. 

I love the food here!

Gifu Castle

Today was a busy day! First we went to Gifu Castle. We rode a cable car up the mountain that it is on. The view was beautiful! Inside the castle was a museum. The area around the castle was pretty too! There was a squirl village were we got to feed squirls. We ate onigiri on the mountain.

After we came down off the mountain we ate kagigori ( flavored shaved ice ). I tried strawberry this time! It was soooooo good! 

Then we went to a temple with a giant buddha. It was interesting. 

After dinner, we went to see fireflies!! In Japane there are special viewing areas since you cant really see them in the city. They were so bright and pretty. On the way home Kaho ( my sister ) fell asleep in my lap :P 

Today was an awesome day!!

5th Day at School

Today I missed some classes because a teacher privately gave me Japanese lessons. Some students saw me after school when I was leaving and screamed of excitement.

Tomorrow I get to go to a castle! XD I cant wait! I went to a 100 yen shop again, but this time I bought a ton of stuff :P I hope I can fit everything that I buy in my suitcase. 

When my sister Rio speaks English it is cute and funny. She said I bought too much at the store :P 

We had cheesecake for dessert today!! :D

Also, while riding my bike home someone passed me and did a double take. Their face is unforgetable, it was hilarious!

4th Day at School

This morning I rode my bike to school. I like riding bikes here, it's fun. I have been eating so much bread, but its not normal bread. I hope I can learn a ton while I am here. 

I understood a full math class today! I was so proud! Math is not a universal language, by the way :P It is difficult when half of the paper is in Japanese. 

 I had fun in PE, but I hit myself in the face with my knee. Luckily nobody noticed. XP 

Mitsuki ( my friend) had me hop on a broom. :P She also had me say happy birthday to someone in Japanese. No matter what I do they find it amusing. 

Yuuka ( another friend) and I both bought bread for lunch today. 

I met my host grandmother at a yakitori shop today. Yakitori is delicious. I want all of it. 

I also visited a library and a 100 yen shop. I have started reading tons of books about Japan. My otoosan gave me another book to read. I wanted to buy everything at the shop, but I only bought two things since I left most of my money at home. 

My host family and I had a jam session with different instruments to Mary had a Little Lamb! :D

3rd Day at School

My okaasan made me an awesomly cute hello kitty bento today! :D Todays classes were not so fun. They are all preparing for testing next week. During test week I am going to the elementary school, junior high, and kindergarden. I am curious to how the different groups of people will react to me. 

There will be a festival before I leave, I hope I can go! 

I watched a TV program with okaasan and otoosan today. Tomorrow is PE, I am excited!! 

Also, today I learned that okaasan used to be an English teacher.

2nd Day of School

PE is so much better here. You choose an activity to be your class for the year, like swimming or track and field. I chose matto. I get to roll around. Everyone was impresssed by me even if I messed up.

I met an assistant English teacher today named Bob. He was nice. Everyone stared while we talked because we are both foreigners. 

I am getting closer with my friends! :)

I had curry bread and cream bread today! I will miss them when I am in America. 

I rode a bikes with okaasan to school today. It was fun! 

Surprisingly at school I understood math and chemistry, even though it was in Japanese.

First Day of School

Today was my first day of school. I am a secound year student. I was an idol at school. XD Tons of people were standing outside my classroom to see me! Many people were asking me to take photos. They would get super excited if I looked or waved at them! It is fun. 

I am not a fan of the way the teach English in my classes though. I dont understand half the classes too. It is still fun though. I have to wait a while to join a club, they wont meet again until after the week of tests. 

I have made many nice friends. I feel like I am in a J-drama. 

I tried squid today, it was stuffed with rice. It was good, like everything else :P
